Paris Fashion Week will meet China Design Exhibition
(Reporter Wu Qian Zi) Reporter learned from the French Haute Couture Association of China that during Paris Fashion Week in March, the event "2011 China in Paris: China Contemporary Creative" will take place. This initiative aims to showcase the creative energy of Chinese designers and artists on an international stage. As part of the "Unbounded Night" cocktail reception, which will be held on March 4, several emerging Chinese designers and three renowned artists will present their work, highlighting the unique charm of Chinese creativity.
The event is officially included in the Paris Fashion Week calendar and is jointly organized by the China National Garment Association and a new fashion international agency. Notable participants include Guo Peixia, founder and Art Director of the "Hazi Chen" brand, who is also the first Chinese member of the French Haute Couture Association. Other prominent figures such as Rose Square's Guo Pei, Zhao Hui Zhou of Yi Zhi Hui Fashion Group, and top Chinese designer Shi Jie will also take part. Additionally, Liu Fang, Zhang Wenhui, Wang Hongying, Masha Ma, Uma Wang, Jin Yuyu, and Shangguan Zhe are set to display their latest collections at the 2010 China Fashion Design Invitational Tournament.
Famous artists Huang Zhiming, Zhong Biao, and Guo Jian will join the "Night Without Borders" event, where they will collaborate with costume designers for a cross-border exhibition. Zhao Qian, head of the French Haute Couture Association China, emphasized that the label "from China" will no longer be used to define these designers in the future. "Each of them has their own distinct style, personality, and business needs," she said.
In response to this, the "China in Paris" event will adopt a new format. Unlike previous static showroom displays aimed mainly at buyers and department stores, this year’s exhibition will combine both static and dynamic elements. A total of 18 models will perform live, showcasing the works of Chinese designers in an engaging and immersive way. Zhao Qian also mentioned that the French new fashion international agencies and the French Haute Couture Association will focus on matching each designer with the most prestigious showrooms in Paris. This one-on-one approach will provide domestic designers with more practical opportunities to enter the global market.
